Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the integrity of Arcwood’s financial reporting and accounting operations. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for early-career accounting professionals to gain exposure to all facets of the accounting function, including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, financial reporting, budgeting, audit support, and business analysis.

 

Working closely with accounting leadership, the Staff Accountant will contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely financial information, maintain strong financial controls, and support the Company's commitment to sound fiscal management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Participates in and develops a working knowledge across all core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, cash application and general ledger activities
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Prepares and reviews location-level financial statements and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with GAAP
  • Supports the maintenance of strong internal controls and accurate financial records
  • Assists with annual budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities
  • Partners with accounting leadership and business stakeholders to research issues, analyze financial results and support operational decision-making
  • Participates in special projects, process improvement initiatives and cross-functional business analysis efforts
  • Assists in the coordination and preparation of information required for internal and external audits
  • Supports compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards, regulations, and corporate policies
  • Researches accounting guidance and assists in the application of accounting standards to business transactions
  • Supports financial leadership with strategic initiatives, special analyses and other projects
  • Collaborates effectively with team members to resolve day-to-day accounting and operational issues
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
- CPA Certification (preferred)

Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in accounting (preferred); recent or upcoming college graduates encouraged to apply
