Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Lubrication Technician  
As a Lubrication Technician you will be responsible for ensuring stationary equipment is lubricated appropriately per the manufacturer’s recommended guidelines and/or schedules provided directly from maintenance leadership. This role maintains accurate records of equipment use and schedules lubrication and filter changes in a timely manner.

 

The working schedule of this role is subject to change due to schedule changes for the facility and production.

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Completes the shut down and lock out of equipment prior to servicing as required to maintain safety standards
  • Lubricates equipment/machinery following a pre-determined schedule and route (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Maintains alertness, specifically to sounds, smells, heat and the overall condition of equipment and reports unusual conditions to maintenance leadership
  • Maintains lubrication records and inventory levels of oils, greases, filters, sample kits and spare parts/equipment
  • Ensures oil storage building, tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, working manner
  • Distributes information regarding hazards or instructions to relief personnel as needed
  • Performs oil sampling for critical mobile and facility equipment
  • Assesses and adjusts vibration monitoring equipment as needed
  • Recommends changes in service intervals and equipment when required based on leaking seals, broken lubrication lines, excessive wear, etc.
  • Performs minor maintenance and preventative maintenance on facility equipment as needed
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education

- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Advanced training or technical degree (preferred)

Experience

  • Experience with start/stop and lockout/tag procedures for equipment and machinery (required)
  • Experience working with different types/weights of oils/greases and their application (required)
